SCHOTTEL GmbH

SCHOTTEL GmbH comprises the propulsion activities of the SCHOTTEL Group. It is both the bedrock and the largest company of the present-day SCHOTTEL Group. Founded in 1921, the company has become a global leader in the marine propulsion sector.

We specialize in the development, design, production and marketing of azimuth propulsion and manoeuvring systems, as well as complete propulsion systems with power ratings of up to 30 MW for vessels of all types and sizes.
Our company headquarters are located in Spay/Rhine in Germany. Around 70 years ago, our company founder, Josef Becker, invented the Rudderpropeller, which went on to conquer the world of shipping. Today the company boasts modern production sites in Germany, as well as a global network of sales and service locations that ensure top quality and customer proximity.
